The t-shirt, as we know it today, appears in almost every form. Considered simple at the time, this garment is rooted in global culture and has evolved over time.
For the record, this fashion item comes to us from our American friends, when the Marines used it as their standard undergarment between the American-Mexican War in 1893 and 1913.
It wasn't until 1950 that it gained in popularity. And for that we have to thank the film "A Streetcar Named Desire" for giving it a chance as a fashion garment!
But the euphoria really began when some Miami companies started spicing it up with prints, slogans, Walt Disney characters...
Suddenly, we're seeing them everywhere! On American Football or Baseball players, but also in remastered versions: short (like the Cropped), with a single sleeve, as a polo shirt, a double t-shirt, a tunic or even in a draped model. In short, nuggets and misses alike!
Some fashion items combine the practical with the pleasurable, and that's certainly the case with t-shirts! Plain, printed, colored, nude or even customized with sequins or embroidery: these days, you'll find them in all shapes and materials (cotton, jersey, linen, viscose, etc.).
But the one that thrills us the most is undoubtedly cotton! Generally speaking, cotton T-shirts have more softness to offer and are lighter in weight. What we love about them is adding subtle details to their fabrics, such as buttons on the shoulders or silver thread stitching along the V-neck. A basic, yes, but a basic revisited with elegance by our stylists.
Available in short or long sleeves, they can be worn to the office or on vacation, while their various colors and embroideries allow you to play the sober card or the more dynamic color card to enhance your outfits!
Wear your favorite t-shirts in spring or summer wouldn't that be cool? After the bob, the banana and the culotte skirt, it's time for the t-shirt to become a summer trend! But you've got to know how to wear it, otherwise you'll end up with pneumonia...
So before you get sick, here are our favorite t-shirt looks!
The rock look: leather pants, a t-shirt by your favorite band, a thin denim jacket and a black bomber jacket.
The chic look: mix a black lace dress with a white t-shirt, a straight plaid coat with an Irish flair and leather ankle boots.
The casual look: take your favorite t-shirt, slip it into your high-waisted jeans and slip on your chunky fleece jacket and your favorite pair of sneakers.
As you can see, when it comes to wearing a t-shirt in summer, it's all about layering. So don't hesitate to vary your pieces, girls ;)
An easy-to-wear item that can be slipped under a jacket, vest or coat.
