Leather & Suede
Leather and suede are not washable; they should be protected and allowed to develop a patina. These are noble materials that improve with time if properly cared for.
Waterproofing
This is the golden rule. Before wearing your leather or suede item for the first time, and then once or twice a year, spray a suitable waterproofing agent from a distance of approximately 20 cm.
For Smooth Leather
Regularly moisturize it with a special leather cleansing/nourishing milk applied in circular motions on a soft cloth. For small stains, use a slightly damp cloth and a mild soap (such as Marseille soap).
For Suede
This material is sensitive to water. To maintain it, use a crepe brush or a suede eraser to remove dust and restore the nap. In case of a grease stain, sprinkle with Sommières clay, leave for a few hours, then brush.
Expert advice
Always hang your leather jackets on a suitable hanger to avoid distorting the shoulder shape, and never under a plastic cover (leather needs to breathe!).
