Cashmere is much more than just a material; it's an investment in lasting comfort. This natural fiber, harvested from goats on the high plateaus of Mongolia, possesses exceptional thermoregulatory properties. It can keep you warm in winter while remaining perfectly breathable as soon as temperatures rise.

Did you know that cashmere is up to three times more insulating than sheep's wool? Despite this thermal performance, it remains surprisingly lightweight. Wearing a women's cashmere sweater is like treating yourself to a cocoon of softness that never scratches and instantly elevates any outfit thanks to its luxurious appearance and impeccable drape.

Why is cashmere expensive?

The price of cashmere is explained by the rarity and complexity of its harvest. The fiber is manually collected only once a year from the undercoat of Capra Hircus goats during their spring molt. It takes the production of four goats to make a single sweater. This artisanal process, combined with meticulous sorting of the longest and whitest fibers, justifies its high-end positioning.

To recognize exceptional cashmere, you need to look beyond the simple label. Quality depends above all on the fiber's Grade. Grade A, the finest and longest, guarantees a sweater that won't deform and will retain its luster. Good knitting should be regular and show some resistance when the stitch is slightly stretched.

Beware of sweaters that feel excessively soapy or too soft to the touch in the store. This can sometimes indicate excessive chemical treatment or the use of short fibers that will pill quickly. Quality cashmere becomes softer with each wash, revealing its true nature over time.

The number of plies: understanding the thickness of your knit

The number of plies indicates the quantity of material used to knit the garment, which determines its thickness and warmth. 2-ply cashmere is the classic: light and versatile, it can be worn next to the skin in spring or under a jacket in autumn. It's an essential in any woman's wardrobe.

For colder weather, you'll want to opt for 4, 8, or even 10-ply models. The higher the ply count, the denser, heavier, and more protective the sweater. Note, however, that the ply count does not define the intrinsic quality of the fiber, but simply the weight of the knit.

Which cashmere doesn't pill?

It's important to know that all cashmere can pill slightly at first. This phenomenon is simply the shedding of excess short fibers. However, high-quality cashmere, using long fibers (Grade A), will pill much less than an entry-level model. After two or three washes, pilling stabilizes and generally disappears on a premium knit.

Choosing the cut and necklines is essential to enhance your figure while enjoying the comfort of knitwear. The different necklines available, such as V-neck, turtleneck, or round neck, allow you to vary styles according to your desires.

• The V-neck cashmere sweater: Ideal for elongating the torso and highlighting the décolletage, it can be worn over a T-shirt or a shirt.
• The turtleneck cashmere sweater: A must-have for winter chic that elegantly protects the neck.
• The round neck: The universal basic that adapts to all occasions.
• The oversized cut or the quarter-zip sweater: For a modern and casual look, very trendy this season.

And finally, the turtleneck sweater, a true icon of winter elegance, gracefully envelops the neck and adds a touch of sophistication to any outfit. For those who prefer a more casual look, the V-neck or round neck sweater are essential, perfect for layering or showcasing beautiful jewelry. The sleeves, whether long for a gentle caress or short for a more summery note, adapt to all seasons and all style desires.

Cashmere offers a rare versatility in style. For a polished “casual chic” look, pair your sweater with a pair of Freeman raw denim jeans. The contrast between the ruggedness of the denim and the delicacy of the knit creates a perfect balance. Add a pair of leather ankle boots to complete the look.

For a sophisticated winter look, pair your cashmere sweater with a wool coat or other high-quality pieces to create an elegant and cozy outfit.

For a more sophisticated evening look, don’t hesitate to tuck your sweater into a flowing midi skirt or wear it over a silk dress. This interplay of textures adds a high-end touch to your outfit. Cashmere also lends itself perfectly to layering: a two-ply sweater under a structured blazer ensures a professional yet comfortable style.

To complete your look, we also offer accessories such as gloves and hats, true symbols of nobility and refinement. Crafted from the finest fibers, these items showcase exceptional craftsmanship. Each creation is the result of a rigorous selection of materials, a carefully studied cut, and meticulous construction, ensuring unmatched durability and softness.

Caring for cashmere is often a source of concern, yet this fiber loves water. Contrary to popular belief, machine washing is entirely possible and even recommended. Use a wool program, cold (maximum 30°C), with a minimal dose of special wool detergent. A slow spin (500 revolutions/minute) is crucial to avoid damaging the fiber.

To preserve the longevity of your garment, avoid wearing your sweater two days in a row. The fiber needs rest to regain its original shape. If small pills appear initially, use a specific cashmere comb. Finally, always dry your sweater flat on a towel, away from any direct heat source, to prevent it from losing its shape.
